PaperCut MF 14.1

The busy PaperCut development team have just released version PaperCut MF v14.1, this new release is designed to make life easier for PaperCut administrators and installers.

The major changes are:

Multiple OU/Group Sync

Admins can select subsets of users within PaperCut without needing to update the directory or use features such as nested groups. This feature also applies for the initial sync during install.

Secondary User Information

You can now easily import and synchronise multiple email addresses (useful for GCP users) and secondary card numbers for users. A secondary card number is useful when a user forgets their card, they can simply log in with a shorter ID number (it is unlikely the user will know/remember the number from the card).

Grayscale Device Auto Detect

PaperCut will automatically detect greyscale-only printers and selects the most appropriate colour detection mode.

New MF System Administrator Reports

Two new reports have been added to improve communication of device usage.

The “Device – scan/fax/copy breakdown” report provides detailed usage information for each device.

The “Shared account print/copy/scan/fax invoice” report is tailored for invoicing device and printer usage by shared account.

Web Print

You can now drag and drop supported files into the Web Print upload box, no more clicking browse for your users.

New authentication options

You can now log in as a user to any part of PaperCut with your email address.

On the 10th of April PaperCut released a security update for PaperCut (nothing to do with Heart Bleed, PaperCut does not use Open SSL)  This new version is build 26983.
