The talented (and productive) PaperCut Dev team have been busy working their way through the bEST certification process with Konica Minolta. The end result is a 16.3 with Integrated Scanning on the Konica platform.

Konica Minolta and Sindoh now support Integrated Scanning

Hot from it's recent bEST certifiication the new Konica Minolta PaperCut MF embedded app now includes Integrated Scanning. New pre-configured Scan Actions ensure secure document scanning on the Konica Minolta platform.

On top of a plethora of tweaks and bug fixes the new solution also supports the AU-205H card reader in either CCID or keyboard wedge mode.

About tab improvments

About tab improvments

To make diagnostics easier, the About tab now shows details of the operating system, server specifications, and database.

Printer/Device Groups filter added to some Ad-hoc reports

PaperCut administrators will find reporting easier with new filters to allow selection by Printer/Device Groups in these reports:

  • User -> Department print/copy/scan/fax – breakdown
  • Printer -> Printer attributes
  • Printer -> Device copy/scan/fax – breakdown
  • Account -> Shared account printing invoice – job type summary (Invoice Reports)

    Release Notes – September 2016 – PaperCut MF 16.3

     

    • New Features:
      The new Konica Minolta bEST certified PaperCut MF embedded application provides an intuitive end user experience at the MFD panel. This release includes the following updates:
          • Integrated Scanning is now supported on the i-Option browser Open API 4.0+.
          • Updated PaperCut branding.
          • The HID Omnikey 5427 CK (AU-205H) card reader is now supported in keyboard wedge mode.
      The new Sindoh PaperCut MF embedded application provides an intuitive end user experience at the MFD panel. This release includes the following updates:
        • Updated PaperCut branding.
        • The HID Omnikey 5427 CK (AU-205H) card reader is now supported in keyboard wedge mode.
    • Enhancements:
    • Added filtering by printer/device group to the following reports:
      • User: Department print/copy/scan/fax - breakdown
      • Printer: Printer attributes
      • Printer: Device copy/scan/fax - breakdown
      • Account: Shared account printing invoice - job type summary (Invoice Reports)
    • Enhanced the About page in the Admin web interface to include details of the operating system, server specifications, and connected database.
    • Pay Station: Remove support for QI SmartKit Console payment hardware.
  • Fixes:
    • Fixed an issue on the Edit Admin Rights page, where some lists of groups weren't alphabetically ordered (since release 16.0).
    • Fixed a rare issue preventing the Application Server from connecting to the database (since 16.1).
  • Copier / Device Integration:
    Canon (MEAP)*:
        • The supported PaperCut connector version is now 1.1.1.
        • Added support for the iR-ADV C55xx series.
    Konica Minolta (OpenAPI):
      • The supported PaperCut connector version is now 3.1.0.
      • i-Option Open API 4.0+ now supports Integrated Scanning.
      • Updated PaperCut branding.
      • The HID Omnikey 5427 CK (AU-205H) card reader is now supported in keyboard wedge mode.
      • Added a new Config key (ext-device.konica-minolta.logout-before-app-registration) to allow SysAdmins to force user logout from a device while updating that device.
  • The Rest:

    For integrators:

    • Device REST API: Fixed an issue causing incorrect device URLs to be generated.

    Other Notes:

    • This release does NOT contain a database upgrade.
    • Devices marked with * require installing an updated version of the embedded software to access new features and fixes.
    • As per the End of Life announcement, this release discontinues support for the QI SmartKit Console.
